As the founder and director of the Angels Foster Family Network, I came to know Mary Curran- Downey in 2008 when I contracted with her to write a large grant proposal. We have hired grant writers over the past 10 years of being in business, but none of them have brought us the successful returns as those written by Mary. Mary understands clearly the application process and how to succinctly provide the information needed to complete a well written grant proposal. Each of the grant proposals she has written has received funding, and we have been able to use her writing as a template for other smaller grants our staff has prepared. She is very professional, has excellent writing skills, and is a real joy for myself and staff to work with. I would highly recommend Mary to other organizations in need of an excellent grant writer.

For the past year, Mary Curran-Downey has completed grant and marketing writing assignments for Home of Guiding Hands. A fresh perspective was brought to our submittals that focused on our true needs to better meet the requirements of over 450 children and adults with developmental disabilities. She served as one of the team to problem-solve to then develop innovative, well crafted, sound proposals and approaches for our organization. HGH is better known in this community than ever before; she’s helped to bring the stories of our clients into the public eye.

Margaret A. Dalton, Esq.
As an educator, Mary is very attuned to the needs and challenges of an adult audience. My time spent in her grant writing class was not only enhanced by her sensitivity, but made the experience extremely meaningful. Her ability to organize, package and present pertinent material in a user friendly manner was very effective, especially in such a jargon-rich and glossary specific field. Her generosity in sharing her comprehensive network of contacts was invaluable in establishing a database where I can start my grant research.
